This Privacy Policy explains how MOTRYN (the "App"), published by Christopher Pallant, trading as IamPalski ("we", "us", "our"), collects and uses your information. MOTRYN is built to hold your vehicle records — not to monetise them.

The data controller for the App is Christopher Pallant (IamPalski). You can reach us through MOTRYN support.
02Information we collect
Vehicle information
Details about your vehicles such as registration, make, model, year, mileage and fuel type, plus the service, repair, MOT and cost records you add.
Documents & photos
Receipts, invoices, photos and other files you choose to attach to a record. These are used only to display and store them for you.
Account information
If the App offers account or sync features, we may collect your email address to identify your account and keep your data in sync across devices.
What we do not collect
We do not collect your precise location, we do not track you across other companies' apps and websites, and we do not sell your vehicle data.
03How we use your information
- to store and display your vehicles, records and documents;
- to send reminders you have asked for (for example, MOT or service due dates);
- to generate the vehicle passport and summaries you choose to create or share;
- to provide, maintain and improve the App; and
- to respond to support requests and keep the App secure.
04Legal basis (UK/EU users)
Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we process your information on the basis of performance of a contract (to provide the features you use), our legitimate interests (to keep the service secure and to improve it), and, where required, your consent. You can withdraw consent at any time.
05Sharing your information
We share information only with:
- people you choose, when you share a vehicle passport or export;
- service providers who help us run the App (for example, cloud hosting or vehicle-data lookups), under agreements that require them to protect your data;
- Apple, which processes purchases and subscriptions; and
- authorities, where required by law.
We do not sell your personal information.
06Storage & security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss or misuse, and data is protected in transit using industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS). No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we take your privacy seriously.
07Data retention
We keep your information only for as long as needed to provide the App or as required by law. You can ask us to delete your account and any associated data by emailing us.
08Children
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
09Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or restrict the processing of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email MOTRYN support. UK/EU users also have the right to complain to a data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).
10Website analytics and cookies
This section covers our website, motryn.app, rather than the App. If you agree, we use Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google, to understand how the site is used: for example, which pages are viewed, the type of device and browser, the country or city a visit comes from, and how visitors found the site. We use this only to understand and improve the website.
Google Analytics is only loaded, and its cookies (named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID, which last up to two years) are only set, if you choose Accept analytics in the cookie banner. If you choose Reject, or make no choice, it isn't loaded and no analytics cookies are set. We don't use advertising cookies on the website, and we don't use analytics to identify you. Our legal basis is your consent.
We remember your choice in your browser's local storage so we don't ask on every visit. You can change it at any time using Cookie settings in the website footer; if you withdraw consent, we delete the analytics cookies. Google may process analytics data in the United States and other countries. See Google's privacy policy for how Google handles it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above shows the latest revision. Material changes will be reflected here.
